New regulations and directives Nigerian Customs 2018

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reviewed the guidelines procedures and documentation requirements in respect of Import transaction. The review is directed at reducing time taken to clear goods, so as to further enhance the ease of doing business in Nigeria by the importers.

GMT has assessed all the new guidelines and has concluded that nothing major has changed. There will be a simplification in how documents are to be presented to customs. That is always a good development, however we do not expect this to have a huge effect.
